The Portuguese foreign affairs minister, Augusto Santos Silva, announced today that Portugal will allow British holidaymakers to visit the nation next week. More lockdown restrictions will ease on Monday, May 17, allowing Britons to travel to certain countries.
Portugal is one of the countries named on Britain’s green list, which was announced by the Government last week.
However, it faced pressure from the EU to maintain its ban on non-essential travel.
But today the Portuguese government confirmed that it will allow Britons into the country, as planned, provided that they have a negative COVID-19 PCR test.
