William and Kate’s official residence is Kensington Palace in London, previously also the home of Princess Diana. Their country residence is Anmer Hall in Norfolk, where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would spend parts of lockdown and have spent many holidays there in the past as a family.

However, the Cambridge family has a secret third home, and it is called Tam-Na-Ghar in Scotland.

The three-bedroom cottage was a gift to Prince William from the Queen Mother.

It is located on the grounds of the Balmoral estate, which explains why the Cambridges’ do not stay at the Queen’s residence when they visit her in Scotland during the summer.

This way, William and Kate can live on their own property with their three children, and also see their relatives every day.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will reportedly be visiting their third home on the Queen’s Balmoral estate later this month.

The Queen had her official welcoming at Balmoral on Monday, and the rest of the Royal Family usually visit every summer to keep Her Majesty company.

But while most members will be travelling to Balmoral Castle and staying in the spare bedrooms, William and Kate will be travelling to Tam-Na-Ghar.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge enjoy travelling to Scotland as the couple met at the University of St Andrews in 2001.

They recently re-visited the university campus in May 2021, which marked the first time the couple had returned since 2011, a few months after they had announced their engagement.

The pair are known by their Scottish titles, the Earl and Countess of Strathearn when they visit Scotland.

Prince William’s father, Prince Charles, is also currently in Scotland undertaking royal duties as the Duke of Rothesay.

There have also been some news reports William and Kate are looking at a fourth property, reportedly considering relocating to Berkshire where Kate grew up.

Royal sources told the Daily Mail, that the Duke and Duchess have been scouting Berkshire residences and schools for some time now.

Berkshire would be a lovely choice for the royal couple, with Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton still living there.

They would be able to be doting grandparents and visit whenever they like to help raise George, Charlotte, and Louis.

They are known to be very helpful with looking after the three Cambridge children so having them close by would be ideal.

If the royal couple does decide to relocate, they will most likely keep their other homes.

Kensington Palace will most probably become a space for work purposes, and the children would be raised in their Berkshire residence.

The Cambridges are expected to be joined by Prince Charles, Camilla, and the Earl and Countess of Wessex in Scotland this summer when they all visit the Queen.

Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence are also expected to attend.

This summer will be the first time the Queen is alone at Balmoral without her husband Prince Philip, who sadly died in April 2021.
