Ryanair issues holiday warning for British tourists

Ryanair has issued a flight warning for Britons travelling to and from the UK as high winds could cause delays.

A spokesperson from the budget airline said: “Some potential delays to and from the UK due to high winds.

“Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to and from the UK on Thursday, September 21 should check their Ryanair app for flight updates before travelling to the airport.

“We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by these high winds which are outside of Ryanair’s control and affect all airlines operating to and from the UK on Thursday, September 21.”

The airline said that all affected passengers would be notified while other travellers should check the Ryanair app for updates.

There are no Met Office weather warnings in place for Thursday currently but Britons faced heavy rain and wind on Wednesday night.

Presenter and meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: “A band of rain will clear by the start of Thursday and that will be followed by sunny spells and showers with low pressure never too far away from the UK.

“Some cooler weather, along with some chilly nights, are likely as we move towards the weekend.”

Weather conditions have caused issues for several airlines with TUI issuing a warning for adverse weather last week.

The holiday company said it “actively monitors weather conditions” in all the destinations it visits.

The warning followed unusual weather conditions in several top destinations such as Greece and Spain this summer.
