International travel is officially reopened with travel rules and requirements all but scrapped in the UK. But other countries may still have restrictions for holidaying Britons, which makes a UK holiday still very attractive this year.
Staycations were the most popular type of holidays during the pandemic, and for good reasons.
With no need to worry about travel rules and plenty of picturesque sights to take in, the UK is a holidaymaker’s dream.

Ahead of Burns Night tonight, some of the most popular Scottish beauty spots have been named.
This year’s most popular Scottish beauty spots have seen an increase in interest.
Increase of interest was 82 percent year-on-year for Scotland, according to HomeToGo data.
The most popular Scottish beauty spot this year was Pittenweem in Fife.
The peninsula between Edinburgh and Dundee is a great destination for a mix of city, rural and seaside holidays.
Pittenweem is a picturesque fishing village which offers great access to the surrounding countryside.
Holidaymakers can follow the Fife Coastal Path and visit St Fillan’s Cave and Kellie Castle.
In second place was the idyllic island of Colonsay in the Inner Hebrides.
There is plenty to do on the island, with a golf course, two distilleries and a microbrewery sure to appeal to visitors.
The island is also great for wildlife spotting with wild goats, rare birds, grey seals and dolphins.
In third place was a great destination for history lovers, Dunkeld in Perth and Kinross.
The Cathedral is a major attraction to the pretty town on the banks of the river Tay.
Nature lovers will enjoy walking through the Hermitage Pleasure Grounds and wildlife-spotting at the Loch of Lowes.
The small island of Great Cumbrae and its only town Millport, came fourth.
Holidaymakers can explore the island on two wheels by following the Great Cumbrae circular bike route.
Activities abound on the island, with kayaking to the Eileans of Newtown Bay also popular.
The island also boasts one of Europe’s smallest cathedrals (Cathedral of the Isles) and one of its narrowest houses (The Wedge).
Rounding up the top five of Scottish beauty spots was Braemar in Aberdeenshire.
In the Cairngorms National Park, Braemar is one of Scotland’s highest villages.
Nature loving holidaymakers will find plenty to do in the area, from hillwalking to mountain biking and even skiing in winter at the nearby Glenshee.
