Scottish island hotel opens for jobs with perks like luxury stays and spa access

Sometimes we all want to up sticks and move somewhere far away from home – and it’s even better if it’s a remote location.

Well, anyone who’s serious about relocating may be able to do just that.

The Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa is looking for summer workers including housekeepers, restaurant workers, night porters, bar staff and a concierge.

And, the hotel, located on a Scottish island, will even throw in luxury live-in accommodation, spa access and driving lessons, reports the Sun.

Not only that, but they’re offering salaries of £25,000 to £28,000 – depending on experience – so you won’t be getting by on a stingy salary.

The hotel is on the second largest Inner Hebrides island – the Isle of Mull which requires a boat ride from the mainland.

And, with four stars on TripAdvisor, the renovated hotel is a top notch place to live out your island fantasies.

The 17-metre pool and spa complete with mud room don’t hurt either.

You can also dine at the on-site restaurant Òran na Mara and get around £2,000 per year in tips.

Other benefits include time off when your children start school, a pet bereavement day, driving lessons, and a subscription to PerkBox (which gives discounts on restaurants and bars).

The Isle of Mull isn’t the only remote location that’s offered high incentives to new staff this year.

Handa Island – a remote Scottish land mass off Sutherland's west coast – advertised for a new ranger in January.

The remote destination wanted a caretaker to watch over seabird colonies that live there.

No full-time residents live on the island, but there are thousands of guillemots, kittiwakes and fulmars.

Plus, rangers spot birds like Arctic Skuas and puffins, as well as marine life such as dolphins, whales and seals.

The position has now been filled, but you can find other jobs relating to conservation – some of which take place in unusual locales – on the Scottish Wildlife Trust Jobs page, here.
