Exploring the great outdoors on a camping trip is a fantastic way to enjoy the country. With many Britons choosing to stay in the UK this summer, camping has seen a resurgence and became something of a trend.
While a camping holiday is a great way to go back to nature, what do people do for food?
Campers have been answering this very question on social media and sharing tips for a successful camping trip.
Keeping food fresh while camping may be an issue, but Facebook users have some helpful hacks.
Sandra Taylor wrote: “Freeze food before you go and wrap it in newspaper when you take it out of freezer.
“Should be good for a couple of days, i.e cooked bacon, sausage, chicken.
“Then just put a curry sauce or something like with it on the day.”

Wendy Coggins Hughes said: “Anything you want to keep cool put in a bowl of cold water in the shade, in plastic tubs.
“You can also get some tinned curry/chilli and boil in the bag rice, cuppa soups, pot noodles, tinned potatoes corned beef, hotdogs and buns.”
Jean Heath said: “Use cool box with small bottles of frozen water. It lasts a few days then buy bags of ice when the water melts. Keeps things colder for extra few days.
“Just put food in sealable bags and use the ice as it melts for drinks.”
Rachael Grant wrote: “If you place your cool box in a roasting tin with water and put cold wet towels over the top it keeps the ice colder for longer and have lots of zip lock bags so food doesn’t get wet in the cool box.”
Talulah Bankhead said: “I got a few lunch boxes from Tesco. The kind that has the silver inside to keep things really cool. I keep my milk and butter in it then use the underneath of the car as shade.”
Another option, of course, is to not cook anything.
With so many ready-meals available, why not make the most of it and put dinner together from store-bought items?
Ruth Long said: “Another option is to buy a ready cooked chicken and bagged salad and coleslaw. This made an easy tea. Add a French stick and always was a hit.”
For some easy camping cooking, prep is everything.
Campers have also shared how they pre-cook things to take with them on their adventures.
Crystal Walker said: “One of my favourite camping tips is to prep what I can food-wise at home.
“Kabobs are great for camping, I cut all our meat and veggies up at home, freeze them in baggies, that way I can just pull them out of the cooler and everyone can put what they want on theirs, and I don’t have to cut stuff up at the campsite.
“Pre-mix pancake mix in baggies, beat eggs and put in a small jug, bring dry milk in a baggie, so all you have to do is mix it all together for a quick breakfast.”
Ruth Long said: “I use to take instant hot chocolate drink (add boiling water), can of long life squirty cream and marshmallows for the children in the evening. They always loved it.”
And Allen Campbell wrote: “I put popcorn kernels in a water bottle. Add oil. Then when I am ready to make popcorn. I just pour into a hot pot.”
Sara Mellor Frazier said: “Beer Butter Chicken is great too! Melt butter, add a can of beer, salt/pepper/garlic, chicken thighs… put in a Tupperware or baggie to marinate until ready to eat!”
