Travel expert says Albania will be a top destination for 2024
Many Britons will be staying at home for Christmas this year, or opting for staycations in different parts of the UK.
But it might be the perfect time to start booking your 2024 holidays for New Year and beyond.
Spain is a favourite amongst Britons due to an abundance of sun, sea, sand (and sangria), plus a relatively short flight time.
However, there is another destination holidaymakers should take a look at when they’re deciding where to go, according to travel guru Simon Calder.
The travel journalist and broadcaster told Lorraine that Albania is a fantastic holiday destination.

He revealed that he will be going there himself just next week, paying a jaw-dropping £30 for a return flight.
Simon shared that the island of Corfu faces towards Albania. He added that it’s both “beautiful” and “friendly”.
The travel expert admitted that it’s not quite as “sophisticated” as Corfu. However, if you have a little more time, you could incorporate both places into your holiday.

Simon continued: “I think for 2024 it’s going to be the real highlight if you want a cut price holiday.”
According to Tripadvisor, the most popular cities in Albania are Tirana, Saranda, Himare and Durres.
Some of the most beautiful tourist attractions are Butrint National Park, The Blue Eye, Bunk Art and Dajti Ekspres ‘cable car’ – there’s something for everyone.
