Spain’s best city to rent a house as a British expat
Many Britons dream of moving to Spain and starting a new life, but where’s the country’s cheapest city to rent a house?
New research from the team at Moving to Spain looked at average monthly rent costs, average wages and monthly utility costs to find the most affordable city to rent a house in Spain.
Cartagena was crowned the best option for British expats looking to rent a house in Spain. The port city sits in the pretty Murcia region and is close to beaches.
The Spanish city also has several Roman ruins to explore while average rent for a one bedroom apartment is just 525 euros (£450).
Cartagena didn’t have many job opportunities but it could be the perfect spot for digital nomads working remotely or retired expats looking to relax.
