Stunning resort with floating lodges and indoor water park could open in UK
An exciting new holiday resort could open in Derbyshire.
The Amber Rock Resort, located on the site of the Crich quarry, would have its own indoor water park and swish accommodation.
Plans show an 116 bed hotel with a lake for water sports, cafe with spectacular views and over-water yoga studio.
There will also be shops, restaurants, mini golf, a gym, spa, climbing centre, bowling alley and activity course.
In concept images, there’s a large pool and waterslide, as well as boats on the water, divers and people going for a swim.
Other pictures show a chic glass building in front of the former limestone quarry.
There's also lodges for guests to stay in – and some even appear to have decks where guests can relax outside if they want to.
It also shows guests walking and cycling through greenery or stopping to soak in the sun.
Derbyshire Live says if all goes well and the public are on board with the scheme – after the consultation ends on March 22 – the developers, Hillcrest (Crich) Limited, aim to submit a planning application towards the end of April.
The past two years have seen a flurry of revisions to designs and detailed discussions with Amber Valley Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council, the Sherwood Foresters and the Crich Tramway Village, with a lot of progress made, say the developers.
The project is currently in its early stages but we’re excited to see what happens next!
