The ‘beautiful’ British beach that tourists ‘might mistake’ for Australia
Australia has some of the world’s best beaches but unfortunately, it’s a long and expensive way from the UK.
However, an incredibly beautiful beach in the UK has been described as looking just like Australia’s Bondi Beach.
Located on the Devon coastline, Woolacombe Beach is a three-mile long sandy beach backed by cliffs.
Although the UK might not be currently enjoying Australia’s sunshine, staycationing tourists might just be able to believe they’re Down Under.
The beautiful beach was chosen by the team at Verdant Leisure as one of the UK’s most breathtaking.

A spokesperson from the team said: “On the stunning coastline of Devon, you might mistake yourself for being on Australia’s infamous Bondi Beach, should you visit Woolacombe.
“The three mile sandy beach, surrounded by rugged cliffs and sand dunes, is a popular spot amongst holiday-goers and surfers alike.
“While the UK can’t promise warm sea water all year round, it can promise unrivalled areas of natural beauty such as Woolacombe beach.”

A tourist wrote on Tripadvisor: “One of the most beautiful sites on earth. I cannot recommend it highly enough.”
Another visitor said: “Lovely beach. Amazing beach, shops, surf and ice-cream. The best is when you get a bodyboard and surf down the sand dunes.”
The beach has been under the private ownership of Parkin Estates since 1848 and has beach hut rentals on offer.
Even during the summer it’s easy to find a spot to relax on Woolacombe beach due to its length.
As well as being a popular surfing destination, the beach is also the ideal spot for a family staycation.
The beach is renowned for its cleanliness, clean water and golden sands, which might just feel like Australia.
