The best beach in Wales for a winter walk has ‘spectacular views’
With its fresh, crisp air, winter is the perfect time to wind down and relax with a beachfront stroll.
Fortunately, parts of the UK are spoiled for choice when it comes to beautiful beaches, and Wales is no exception.
With over 150 spectacular beaches to choose from for an escape from the hectic festive season, new research conducted by the experts at West Wales Holiday Cottages has revealed the best beaches across the Welsh coast.
Particularly focussing on walks for dogs and their owners, the study analysed a range of factors to determine the outcome, such as the number of dog-friendly accommodations and eateries, average temperatures, and water quality, before giving each beach an overall score.
1. Saundersfoot Beach, Pembrokeshire
Taking the crown for the best beach in Wales for walkers and their four-legged friends is Saundersfoot Beach in Pembrokeshire.

The nearby harbour is particularly pretty, and there are spectacular views from the top of the hill.
2. Barmouth Beach, Gwynedd
Southern Snowdonia’s most popular seaside resort, Barmouth Beach is large enough to escape fellow tourists.
Barmouth is the starting point for a number of lovely walks varying in distance, and offers stunning views over Cardigan Bay.
