The gorgeous island paradise that’s 28 degrees in December
As the UK is hit by wet weather and cold temperatures, it might seem tempting to book a holiday under the winter sun. A beautiful island paradise is one of this year’s top trending destinations suggested by Skyscanner.
Cabo Verde is an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of West Africa. With an average temperature of 28 degrees, the islands are the perfect place to escape a dreary British winter.
According to TUI, the ideal time to visit Cabo Verde is between November and June when the weather is “warm and sunny”. Just six hours from the UK, the 10 islands have stunning beaches, watersports and volcanic landscapes.
Tourists looking for white sand beaches will want to check out beautiful Praia de Chaves and Praia de Santa Monica.
While December isn’t the best time for whale watching, tourists have a chance of spotting dolphins all year round.

Join a boat trip for the best chance of seeing them and look out for lemon sharks and loggerhead turtles.
Hiking fans can head to the top of Pico do Fogo, one of Cabo Verde’s active volcanoes. Tourists should only attempt the climb with a guide and it takes around four hours to reach the top.
On Sal island, tourists can join a salt mine tour to find out more about the region’s history of production.

Of course beaches are what draws the majority of tourists to Cabo Verde and there are so many gorgeous spots to discover.
It’s a fantastic destination for watersport fans and visitors can try their hand at scuba diving, kite surfing or snorkelling.
