Parkdean Resorts analysed the most popular staycations in 2021 to predict the trends Britons will enjoy the most next year.
Their Staycation Report revealed that over half of Britons plan to spend their holidays in the UK next year.
But where is the most popular place to staycation?
Some of the most in-demand staycation spots are Yorkshire and The Humber, followed by Lancashire, the Lake District, Yorkshire and Wales.
The majority said they would choose to stay in the South West of England, in a location such as Cornwall or Devon.
However, the new data revealed most Britons are looking for unique accommodation next year for an unforgettable experience and these options are not only available in Cornwall, but all around the UK.
But what are the options out there for the most quirky staycation?
One of the most searched options is glamping pods.
The charming pods are the best choice for memorable stays and are expected to be the most popular choice in summer 2022.
Traditionally semi-circled shaped and made of wood, glamping pods offer an opportunity to be in close contact with nature.
The second most in-demand form of unique accommodation is shepherd huts.
Shepherd huts have all you need for a staycation, with some offering fully decked out kitchen and living room spaces.
Another way to experience a different staycation is by staying in domes.
The igloo-shaped shelters are perfect to sleep under the stars, without having to worry about the weather.
They will also provide breathtaking sunrise and sunset views.
Cabins and beachfront accommodations will continue to be popular staycations next year.
While cabins are great for winter breaks and escaping to the middle of a forest to reconnect with yourself, beachfront stays offer a more entertaining form of staycation, perfect to spend with the family.
British seaside resorts are known for their vibrant atmosphere, arcade, restaurants and pubs.
Another popular option are tipis which have experienced a significant increase in online searches.
They are the closest form of unique accommodation to tents, offering the best things about camping, and some of the home luxury.
Britons are therefore expected to experience different forms of unique stays this new year and not only is the most in-demand places like Cornwall but all around the UK – because the most incredible experiences usually take place in the less crowded places.
