The cost of living crisis has put many Britons under pressure and many families are struggling to afford a holiday this year.

Luckily, the UK has tons of incredible free attractions which could make the perfect summer day out.

The expert travel team at Which? Travel has named the UK’s best free attractions including an outstanding history museum.

The team surveyed almost 7,000 people to get their opinions on the UK’s free and cheap days out.

Britons looking to enjoy a staycation this summer have plenty of incredible budget friendly attractions to choose from.

The best-rated free attraction in the UK was the St Fagans National Museum of History with an incredible customer score of 94 percent.

The special open-air museum has live exhibits for customers to explore including a working forge, chapel and school.

Tourists can enjoy demonstrations of blacksmithing, pottery and weaving at the exciting free museum.

York’s Railway Museum grabbed second place while the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford rounded off the top three.

Durham Cathedral took first place in the free historic building ranking while St Davids Cathedral took second place.

Although a tour of the Houses of Parliament will cost them, Britons can contact their member of parliament to request a free tour of the building.
