Cool stays can be found anywhere, from treehouses to renovated barns, there are so many options for unique rentals on Airbnb.

So, perhaps it's no surprise that this converted dairy barn and grain silo is the most wish-listed stay in Virginia on the site.

Barn Silo in Independence, Virginia

Located in Independence, Virginia, about two hours north of Charlotte, North Carolina, this stay is a renovated 1950's dairy barn and silo that was finished in 2018. The stay is listed as the "entire home," which includes the top two floors of the silo, complete with a private deck off the bedroom, and a living room and bathroom that's on the third floor. The very top floor also features windows all around for a 360-degree view of the countryside. The kitchen is a shared space with the hosts.

Since it's a fairly small space, the silo itself is for only two guests (no children under age 12). In addition to the comfortable accommodations, guests will also be able to access the property's gardens, grounds, and nearby creek. Cell service is also minimal, so it's the perfect place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

In addition, the hosts have made this stay a little more interactive. "We have also created a little game for our Silo guests! Upon arrival we will give you clues to a secret compartment in the Silo," it says in the listing. "My husband is a master cabinet maker and creates the most unique secret compartments. When you discover it , there is a special gift for you to take home!"

Animal lovers would be particularly welcome here, too. The hosts note in the listing that they have two friendly dogs (a Husky and a German Shepherd), six friendly cats, and a coop "full of chickens" that are almost always laying fresh eggs. They also have some fluffy Silky chickens.

This popular stay luckily has a lot of availability in 2021 at the time of writing this article, and at $195 per night, it's a pretty good deal for a luxury stay in the country.

The hosts also have two other accommodations on the property. For more information, visit the Dream Rock Silo listing on Airbnb.
