This Gorgeous Tree House With an Ocean View Is Hawaii's Most Wish-listed Airbnb
Who needs a luxury hotel in Hawaii when you can have an actual treehouse?
The most wish-listed Airbnb in Hawaii isn't a beach house or mansion, it's actually a luxurious treehouse on the Big Island.
Located in Kailua-Kona, this 500-square-foot treehouse sits on three acres of property and has a gorgeous view of the ocean and tropical foliage. Blending in, for the most part, with its natural surroundings, the house even has live tree trunks growing through the home.
But this isn't the treehouse from your childhood. The home comes equipped with a full kitchen with mango wood cabinetry, granite countertops, and all the supplies you need for cooking. The home's bathroom has a custom, floor-to-ceiling glass shower, mosaic tile floors, and a 100 percent solar-powered water system.
The bedroom, in particular, has the most spectacular view since the king-sized bed faces the outdoor terrace, where guests can take in breathtaking sunsets over the ocean. The home itself is about 15 feet off the ground, so it's easy to see far on the horizon. It also sits on a farm with over 200 different fruit trees, so guests can take advantage of getting some fresh fruit, as well as eggs from the farm's chicken coop.
The indoor-outdoor floor plan makes it easy to feel the Hawaiian breeze. There's also a spiral staircase that leads you down to a four-person, private hot tub. Since it's so close to the beach, there's complimentary gear like snorkels, boogie boards, beach umbrellas, and beach towels available for use.
And, if you want to go to restaurants or do some shopping, the property is conveniently located only 15 minutes from downtown Kona.
The home can accommodate two guests and is not necessarily kid-friendly, according to the listing, since it's a real treehouse that requires some climbing to get in and out. Nightly rates begin at $429 per night, with availability beginning in late March.
