‘This little gadget is a life saver’ for long-haul flights
AirPods and Bluetooth headphones have become increasingly popular, giving more freedom to move about without requiring a wire connecting their headphones and a device. How do the AirFly headphone adaptors work?
The AirFly Pro allows you to pair your wireless headphones, regardless of whether they are Apple AirPods, Beats headphones or another brand, with any device – from in-flight entertainment to gym equipment.

When pairing your AirFly with your AirPods, you need to make sure the switch on the side of the device is turned to TX. Next, hold down the button on the front of the device until the white light is blinking – this means its ready to pair. Open your AirPods and use the pairing button to pair the two devices. When the white light on the AirFly turns from blinking to a solid, white light that means the two devices are paired and you are ready to go.
“Usage and connectivity is very simple,” added Dylan. “Your AirPods must be inside your AirPod case to enter the pairing mode. And then, boom, there you have it you can enjoy your favourite movie just like that.”
The wireless transmitter has a 10m or 33ft reach, meaning you can relax with plenty of space to enjoy your movie or TV show. And, this large reach means they can also be helpful if you fancy hitting the hotel gym on your holidays, allowing you to move away from your device without losing sound.
Are AirFly headphone adaptors worth buying?
Though Express.co.uk has not put any of the adaptors in the AIRFLY range to the test, a number of air passengers have shared their experience across social media, with many raving about the nifty device.
In his video, Dylan urged other wireless headphone users to try the gadget, saying: “This little gadget is a life saver when it comes to flying and it’s definitely a travel must have.”

Similarly, another TikTok user named Megan Gines reviewed the device, describing the AirFly as helping make her flight feel like “heaven”. She said: “I’m telling you guys… it’s amazing.”
On Amazon, the brand has a 4.4 star rating out of five, from more than 8,400 customer ratings. Mark H reviewed the item, saying: “I recently discovered the Twelve South AirFly Pro, and it has become my ultimate travel companion for aeroplane journeys!
“This versatile device allows me to enjoy wireless audio on flights, making my travel experience more enjoyable and hassle-free.”
Another customer, posting under the name Mrs C, wrote: “Can lose connection but husband loved it for our seven-hour fight. The on/off has seemed to have rubbed off but still works. It’s pricey but hopefully worth the money.”
However, some people did note that the device can lose connection from time to time, so you may find yourself having to reconnect during your flight.
