British tourists travelling to non-red destinations don’t have to quarantine in an expensive Government hotel. Double-vaccinated passengers just need to take a PCR test on or before day two after arrival in the UK and fill out a passenger locator form.
TravelSupermarket has revealed the most popular destinations with British tourists after the travel red list was slashed.
Cape Verde tops the list as the most booked destination in the last week, after it was one of 47 countries removed from the red list.
British tourists looking to visit Cape Verde will need a Covid certificate or proof of a negative test taken within 72 hours before travel, according to the latest advice.
The beautiful island destination is located in the mid-Atlantic and is formed of a cluster of 10 islands.
There are direct flights to the island paradise from the UK and the hotspot offers visitors year-round sun, gorgeous beaches and volcanic landscapes.
Tenerife took the second spot on the list and is an extremely popular destination with Brits seeking a holiday in the sun.
The largest of all the Canary Islands, Tenerife has something to offer everyone, whether Brits are travelling with family or friends.
From national parks to coastal walks, the island’s stunning landscape leaves many tourists wanting more.
Families should pay a visit to Siam Park, which has been awarded the title of Best Water Park in the world several times.
Lanzarote finished off the top three most popular destinations. Another beautiful hotspot within the Canary Islands, the destination offers year-round warm weather.
The island’s volcanic landscape offers British tourists plenty to explore after they finish relaxing at one of the destination’s many gorgeous beaches.
A favourite with many Brits, Spain’s Costa Blanca was the fourth most popular destination. The area includes the resort areas of Benidorm and Alicante.
Recent shark sightings have done little to put Brits off the Costa Blanca and those visiting can expect buzzing nightlife and sunny beaches.
Rounding off the top five most popular destinations with British tourists was Turkey and specifically the Antalya region.
Turkey was removed from the UK Government red list in September in welcome news for British travellers.
Estelle Giraudeau, Club Med’s Managing Director, told Express.co.uk: “Turkey is the perfect option for some late winter sun.”
Brits are also eager to get back to the United States, with New York and Las Vegas taking the fifth and sixth spots on the list.
The USA has yet to reopen its borders to UK travellers but has announced plans to do so in November.
It is expected Brits will need to be double-vaccinated if they want to visit the USA after the rule change.
