Travel expert names the ‘best place to go in 2024’ that’s very ‘vibrant’
Britons who are staying home for Christmas may want to bring in the new year abroad.
And other Brits may already be planning their summer holidays for something to look forward to.
Condé Nast Traveller has compiled a list of 24 destinations they have named as “the best places to go in 2024”.
Travel journalist Sarah Rodrigues recommended beautiful Budapest, Hungary for “a fresh take on the 150 year-old city”.
If buildings are your bag, stunning Budapest might just be for you. It’s famous for its architecture and proudly displays everything from Art Nouveau and neoclassical to Gothic and Baroque.

Holidaymakers come from far and wide to visit Budapest’s “mineral-rich” thermal baths.
Baths Budapest details the kind of experience travellers can have here. The baths are Szechenyi Bath, Gellert Bath, Lukacs Bath, Kiraly Bath and Rudas Bath.
The website reads: “Szechenyi Bath is the biggest and most popular of all the thermal baths in Budapest. What is more, it is one of the biggest natural hot spring spa baths in Europe too.

“The 18 pools in Szechenyi Bath are open every single day throughout the year, including national holidays when it’s an especially popular place to visit.
“Besides the outdoor and indoor geothermal pools, you can get massage treatments, enjoy the saunas, the gym, relax by the pools with some beer, wine or even taste the natural waters that supply the pools from over 1000 meters below the surface.”

Baths Budapest recommends Szechenyi if you only have a few days in the city. However, Gellert Bath, Rudas Bath and the summer pools like Palatinus “will give you a special experience” in Hungary.
For travellers who love to party, Budapest offers “vibrant nightlife” where you can make memories and mingle with holidaymakers and locals alike.
History buffs will also love the city, according to Condé Nast Traveller. November 2023 marks 150 years since the divided cities of Buda, Pest, and Obuda were unified, as well as a series of cultural events.
Some key places to visit include The Chain Bridge, the House of Music Hungary and the National Athletics Centre.
