TripAdvisor has named Britain's best hotels – and the top B&B in the world is said to be in Scarborough.

The Toulson Court, in the Yorkshire resort town, has taken the prestigious crown for the first time.

It has eight bedrooms, including twin and family rooms, and prices start at just £70 per night.

The B&B is very close to the beach, is dog-friendly and comes with tasty breakfast items like a Full English or fresh fruit.

Meanwhile, the five-star Hari in London won the award for TripAdvisor’s top hotel.

It boasts luxurious suites, a garden terrace, bar and is nearby to fancy Harrods.

Haytor Hotel in Torquay and Edgar House in Chester also won big.

The former was voted “best small hotel”.

It’s nestled in the Devonshire seaside resort and is a former Victorian villa that dates back to the 1830s.

The lodgings boast spectacular coastal views and also have a garden terrace where you can enjoy breakfast.

Meanwhile, Edgar house is the “best romance hotel”.

The romantic hotspot is a renovated Georgian House that can be booked out by 16 guests at a time.

When it reopens next year, it will include its own cinema and games room facilities too.

TripAdvisor spokesperson Hayley Coleman said: “Now that staycations are back on in the UK and the ban on overseas travel is days away from lifting, Brits will want to start getting plans in motion for what could possibly be the most longed for holiday of their life.

"This celebration of the best of the best hotels around the world should serve as the perfect guide for discovering places to stay that are fit for the trip of a lifetime."

The UK has introduced a traffic light system for travel.

Holidaymakers are limited when it comes to places to jet off without quarantining.

So as lockdown eases more on May 14, many will be looking to take staycations instead this summer,.

With the restrictions between households mixing and meeting indoors lifting, we can make plans to stay elsewhere in the Britain.

Hotels, B&Bs, hostels and other holiday venues will be able to reopen their doors and welcome visitors to stay.

And we can't wait!
