International travel has officially been made easier by the latest Government announcement this week. While holidaymakers may now come back to England without the need for Covid tests, Britons may still face restrictions at their holiday destinations.

Last year saw the option of a UK holiday become more popular than ever.

Many Britons rediscovered the country and all it had to offer for a fantastic holiday.

This year, while international travel is set to be easier, many may still choose to stay in the country for their holidays.

The cheapest cities for a staycation have been named.

Hotel room prices are cheapest in Hull, according to new data from jewellerybox.

The Yorkshire city offers plenty of activities to holidaymakers.

The Streetlife Museum of Transport and The Deep aquarium are two popular attractions.

Coming joint second were Stoke-on-Trent and Coventry.

Coventry Cathedral is a popular attraction to the city and is often cited as being one of the UK’s favourite 20th-century buildings.

“You can’t help but go back to being a kid with all that fun (and candy) right in front of you!

“Even if you’re not interested in the amusement park rides at the very end of the pier, it is still a great walk when you are visiting Brighton.”

In fourth place for cheapest hotel rooms in the UK was the Welsh capital of Cardiff.

The city offers plenty of options for holidaymakers, from museums to restaurants, castles to parks.

Cardiff is also a fantastic destination from which to discover the region and has many day trips options.

Rounding up the top five was Sheffield and its gardens.
