Jorvik Tricycles looked at the average monthly google searches for every National Trust site to find the UK’s favourite.

With a whopping 96,000 average monthly Google searches, Cheddar Gorge is the UK’s favourite attraction.

The team said: “As England’s largest gorge, the site offers spectacular views of towering limestone cliffs as well as an abundance of wildlife and adventure.

“Although the caves are not owned by the National Trust, the stalactite caverns are also fascinating!”

Cheddar Gorge is famous for its herd of feral goats who are popular with the many visitors who travel to the site.

Tourists can trek the Cheddar Gorge trail for incredible views and enjoy some of the region’s iconic cheese afterwards.

Tatton Park in Knutsford took the second spot. The special site has vast gardens and a rare-breed farm.

The site is particularly popular with families as children can take part in milking demos and meet baby animals in spring.

In winter, visitors can still enjoy the animals and will also be able to head out on one of the site’s popular walking routes.

In third place was Waddesdon Manor which had over 50,000 monthly Google searches on average.

The Buckinghamshire site is a favourite with culture vultures for its French renaissance style and period interiors.

Perfect for winter, the site hosts market stalls among twinkling trees during the festive season.

Corfe Castle in Dorset was the fourth most popular attraction and is one of the UK’s most iconic defensive fortresses.

Rounding off the top five was Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire, famed for being more glass than wall.

Visitors can even head off on a roof tour to enjoy breathtaking birds-eye views of the surrounding landscapes.
