Cornwall topped the list of seaside destinations and Travelodge’s research found just under a third of Britons were planning to head to the seaside this Easter.
It’s not hard to see why Cornwalls so popular as many of the region’s beaches are award-winning and look like they could be on the Mediterranean coast.
Fistral Beach is the highest-rated Cornish beach on Tripadvisor and one reviewer described it as “absolutely stunning”.
Tripadvisor user ‘Michelle B’ said: “Wow, was it worth a visit! Surfers galore, absolutely stunning beach, the scenery was spectacular, definitely worth a visit.”
The good news is, the budget hotel chain has plenty of locations with impressive deals on offer this year, including in the UK’s favourite coastal hotspot. You can read our best Travelodge deals hub for all of the latest discounts and money-saving hacks.

Nearby Devon was the second most popular coastal destination with British tourists searching for a seaside staycation.
Exmouth Beach is the region’s top-rated coastline on Tripadvisor while other top attractions include the Plymouth Gin Distillery and Paignton Zoo.
However, holidaymakers are unlikely to find a cheap seaside break in Devon or Cornwall, although they could try staying in Plymouth.
Britons are much more likely to find a cheap break in Blackpool, the third most popular destination on the list.
Blackpool is a fantastic destination for families with plenty to entertain children even on a rainy day.
In a survey from Sykes Holiday Cottages the seaside resort was named the cheapest staycation destination in the UK.
Bournemouth and Whitby rounded off the top five while Southport landed just outside the top rankings.
Great Yarmouth and Brighton made the list while Eastbourne, recently named the UK’s top destination, came in eighth place.
Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge spokeswoman said: “Our latest Travel Index report shows holidaying at home is going to be the top holiday destination for many Britons this Easter, which is great news for the UK hospitality sector.
“However, the rising cost of living is making budget-stretched Britons drive a trend for shorter and multi-location breaks this Easter, so that they can maximise their holiday time and enjoy different experiences.
“This could include combining a rural break with a day at the seaside or exploring a historic city.”
Travelodge’s top rural destination was the Lake District while London was the most popular city hotspot.
