VIDEO: Travel to the home of Santa Claus in Rovaniemi, Lapland

From husky sleigh rides to Santa’s Secret Command Centre, a trip to the Arctic Circle is pure Christmas magic.

Fancy the surprise of a lifetime?

Every December, several very special flights take off from Irish airports. Their destination? The North Pole.

That’s what the departures boards say, anyway.

As our video (above) shows, the charter flights whisk families off to snowy Lapland, set within the Arctic Circle in the north of Finland.

Here, they are kitted out with thermal suits to explore Rovaniemi, the ‘official’ hometown of Santa Claus, and get to try some amazing activities.

It’s a hugely expensive trip (costs start from €899 per adult or €799 per child), but people do it for all kinds of reasons and the memories last forever.

For this trip, we travelled with Sunway (sunway.ie/lapland).
