You don’t have to break the bank to get away this Memorial Day and you don’t have to settle for battling crowds at the beach either.
On Thursday, travAlliancemedia president and CEO, Mark Murphy appeared on Fox 29 Philadelphia to share some under-the-radar holiday trip ideas, including some wallet-friendly possibilities.
The Florida Keys and Key West are a coveted destination this time of year but travelers can still score a deal ahead of the unofficial start of summer.
“Fly into Miami and rent a car and drive down. You can stay in the historic district for about $230 per night. I love it because you can do paddleboarding, fishing and you can watch the sunset from Pier House,” said Murphy.
In the Northeast, New York’s Finger Lakes and Nova Scotia, Canada also stand out, according to the travel expert.
“[Nova Scotia] is so easy to get to and that’s what people don’t realize. If you book it properly, the airfare is dirt cheap and you’re going to a place before it’s in the middle of peak season and that means you’re going to get a better deal, have fewer crowds and have a great experience.”
