If the thought of a tiresome recce for a campsite and trundling around with a queue of angry drivers behind you has put you off a caravan holiday then you might like this wacky concept ‘hotel’ in Berlin.
It’s an indoor caravan park, containing 12 uber-stylish caravans that guests can rent from 70 euros (£62) a night.
Each one has been crafted by a different designer – and there’s even Wi-Fi. Though the bathrooms are shared.

The name of the indoor glamping spot is Hüttenpalast – which means ‘Huts at the Palace’. It’s located in the trendy Neukölln district and occupies a former 200-square-metre warehouse, which used to be a vacuum cleaner factory.
The website notes that the ‘décor is a loving parody of the old, whimsical, German garden-patch aesthetic’ and it offers a ‘breath of summer’ even in winter, with guests able to walk around the venue in flip flops.

Despite the lack of padding against noise, there are a range of perks on the site. Guests get free WiFi and the warehouse is also kept to an average temperature of 20 degrees Celsius all year round
For those who fancy a brief taste of the outdoors, there is a communal garden area with seating and planted pots.
Inside, meanwhile, it’s kept at a pleasant 20C all year round.
On the food front, a breakfast buffet is served each morning for €10.60 (£9.40).
Treats include fresh homemade fruit salad, nuts, honey, and organic cheese from a local dairy farm.
For those who feel they have taken enough camping trips in their life but would still like to stay at the venue, there are six traditional hotel rooms.
The site notes that, unlike the caravans, the double rooms are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, all of which ‘show off the beautiful factory architecture with large windows and high ceilings’.
