Woman slams blue British passport – ‘it looks like a Pritt Stick job gone wrong’
A woman has gone viral on TikTok after showing off the new passport she received in the post – and claiming it looks “suspicious”.
The creator, Lina, @n.linah, claimed she was worried that customs officers abroad would not believe the document was valid due to its design.
British citizens currently hold a mixture of the old, burgundy and gold design and the new post-Brexit blue version.

Anyone with a red passport needs to ensure it is no more than 10 years old – even if it still claims to be valid in the date section – as they could be rejected from entering certain countries.
Plus, most Brits need between three and six months left on their passport to go on holiday in many European regions.
Lina showed off her new blue passport in the clip revealing the cover which is a deep blue, almost black, colour with the usual gold decoration.
Then she flipped open the pages to show a strange ledge of cut paper at the front and back.
She wrote: “New British passport. I actually called the passport office after this was delivered as I thought the bad print job wasn’t intentional.”
In an over voice, Lina added: “The new British passport, if I was a custom’s officer I would be very suspicious if someone showed up at an airport with that.
“I mean, look at that. Look at the first page, it looks like a Pritt Stick job gone wrong.”
Lina flicked through the pages to show the quality of the document.
Her video quickly went viral with over 14,000 likes and 540,000 views.
In the comments, people shared their opinions of the new passports too.
One person wrote: “I was shocked when I felt a blue passport for the first time, they feel so cheap! Even the cover.”
While another added: “The blue ones are so bad. They don't even lay flat when closed anymore .”
And, a third joked: “This is the height and achievement of leaving the EU– a blue colour passport.”
However, one person came to the defense of the documents, claiming that the quality is normal.

They said: “That’s a normal binding technique when the no of total pages isn’t divisible by four.”
And, a foreign national noted: “We’ve had this for a long time in Poland.”
While another said: “OMG, it’s the exact same with the new NZ passport.”
A spokesperson from Her Majesty's Passport Office told the Daily Star: “The British passport is a secure travel document that exceeds international standards.”
