Woman tracks down Airbnb scammer – and threatens to ‘snitch’ to his parents

An Airbnb scammer was reportedly caught out after the woman he tricked threatened to contact his parents.

On TikTok, the woman claims she arrived at the advertised property in Florida just to find out that it was no longer available.

The video creator, Olivia, @livvoogus, was left without the room despite it still accepting bookings online.

The video went viral as she then revealed that she knew the tenant’s personal information – and would use it to take her revenge.

"Your name is on the Wi-Fi code, Mr Tyler, born in May, 1996," Olivia notes in the video. “No, you don’t have an Airbnb, because you got evicted, and you’re either going to send us the $1,000 back, or I’m going to have a sleepover with your parents."

On her account, Olivia explained that she booked the Airbnb months earlier so she could attend a music festival on New Year’s Eve.

Taking precautions, she had booked a "super host" which is one of Airbnb’s labels for an experienced and highly rated host.

Despite not seeing anything suspicious when booking, Olivia began to feel nervous as the day approached.

She explained: "The Airbnb host had sent us two different codes for the door and just stopped responding to any questions that we had, like where to park or how to get into the building — just kind of went ghost."

After arriving, Olivia was surprised that none of the door codes worked.

She tried to speak to the host on the phone, but a neighbour got to them first.

They explained that the situation had happened previously with holidaymakers being left at the door without access.

Olivia noted: "The person who had lived there got evicted because, according to the lease, you’re not allowed to do Airbnbs out of the apartment, and he just never took the listing down."

No other Airbnbs or hotels in the area had availability so Olivia looked into the host’s WiFi – and discovered his name, birthday and the address of his parents.

She then brutally messaged him asking if she was meant to meet him at his parents' house with the address clearly stated on the text.

The stroke of genius meant that the man called her back "too quickly".

Thankfully, Olivia and her pals were able to stay on the floor of a pal’s home.

However, she also received a text from the host’s girlfriend accusing her of threatening him.

Olivia answered: "Babes ur bf got evicted and is scamming people out of Airbnb’s leaving them with nowhere to stay."

Thankfully, she was able to get a refund from Airbnb and the stay company paid for a percentage of the cost of a hotel the next night.

In the comments, people slammed the host.

One person said: "You should still contact his parents to snitch."

"I would have shown up to the parents address and told them everything," another added.

While a third commented: "I host an Airbnb.

"Call the police and make them aware of the fraud."
