The planet’s first ever space hotel is scheduled to open in just four years – and it’s a fascinating new world.

The company behind the unique holiday destination is Orbital Assembly who have released various plans for the space station hotel over the years.

The hotel and Starlab station even acquired a new engineering company this month to push the project along.

ZIN Technologies was acquired on March 13 due to its experience with microgravity research equipment which has been used on the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station.

We took a look at Orbital Assembly's Voyager Space and Pioneer Space plans to discover all of the fascinating details available right now.

First thing’s first, the out-of-this-world accommodation will float above the Earth’s atmosphere so we’d expect some pretty incredible views of our blue planet.

The hybrid space stations will be designed with leisure as well as commerce and research in mind.

This means that the people who stay will hop on board either in the Pioneer Space Station or the Voyager Space Station.

The Pioneer station will have space for a total of 28 occupants at a time.

And, you’ll arrive at the holiday of a lifetime at one of five docking stations.

On board the Pioneer station there will be a combination of different gravity settings so you’ll have your feet on the ground in some places while people float in Zero-G in others.

The Orbital Assembly website states: "Experience space in the comfort of gravity. Book your next high-end resort vacation…in space!

"Reserve your spot aboard the world's first all-inclusive luxury space hotel and enjoy incredible views of space from the comfort of your own hotel room stocked with gravity.

"Inside the Pioneer Station, you'll experience experience comforts not available on other space platforms."

Meanwhile, the station will also be used as a research centre where scientific discoveries and made and tried out.

The website noted: "Whether you're looking for partial gravity to simulate Lunar or Martian environments, or the weightless environment of Zero-G for your next big breakthrough innovations, our orbital labs can be customised to facilitate your research project in life sciences and physical sciences."

Business and manufacturing will also have its place on-board.

Space service providers, manufacturers, communications providers and space transport companies might all make use of the facilities.

Meanwhile, Voyager Space Station is apparently "designed for comfort, safety and reliability".

It will feature a central docking hub for ship transport to and from Earth.

In the docking hub you’ll experience zero gravity before moving to luxury elevators that take you to habitation and activity modules within the station.

Video monitors on the walls of access tubes that take you from place to place will keep you updated with live views of earth and space.

There will be over 125,000sf of "habitable space" on board which will work at a level of one sixth of Earth’s gravity.

Plus, Hilton will help to design the interior of the space station hotel meaning it’s set to be a luxury experience for space-goers.

While zooming through space at 17,000mph you’ll be surrounded by the clean glamour of the Hilton.

You’ll be able to live, work, play and eat while in the modules for the ultimate stay.

Finally, for safety there will be 44 Emergency Return Vehicles and automated flight controls for an "autonomous landing".

It is not yet known how much passage and a stay will cost per tourist.

The Orbital Assembly website states: "Orbital Assembly Corporation develops and operates gravity-capable space stations on-orbit, in cislunar space, and throughout the solar system; enabling humanity to work, play, and thrive in the space ecosystem."
