‘World’s steepest dive’ rollercoaster to open next year with drop from 150ft

Would you be brave enough to ride the world’s steepest dive rollercoaster?

The thrilling attraction is opening in Six Flags Fiesta in Texas, US, next year.

Concept imagery shows how terrifying the experience will be for thrill-seekers brave enough to take on Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger rollercoaster.

The ride has multiple drops of 90 degrees or more, which creates the sensation of free-falling while you’re still safely strapped in.

Then to make hairs on the back of your next stand up more, there’s a huge drop too

After riders are hoisted 150ft into the air, they’ll whiz downwards at 95 degree angle at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour.

Other highlights of the rollercoaster, which can carry 21 passengers at a time, include a 270 degree zero-g roll and 75ft near-vertical drop.

The Six Flags website reads: "Dr. Diabolical proclaims to have an elixir from the fountain of youth that is capable of preserving life.

"She lures unsuspecting visitors to partake, but little do they know that she is using them to fulfil her evil plan to frighten the world with her menacing creatures.

"Dr. Diabolical built a machine to harvest the essence of human adrenaline and fear in order to nourish her creatures. This machine is called Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger.

"Once you are exposed to this menacing machine, you shall live forever…IN FEAR!"

This isn’t the only ride adrenaline junkies can look forward to.

Six Flags is also preparing to open Dare Devil Dive Flying Machines, which let riders soar through the sky.

The website explains: "Experience the thrills and sensations of weightlessness through aerial banks, loops and dives, all while seated in a retro four-seater steampunk flying machine.

"Sharply turning right side up and upside down, riders break from formation and maneuver into aerobatic dogfights during the barnstorming journey, as they soar nearly five stories above Crackaxle Canyon."

These two new attractions join other best-loved rides that are already at the theme park.

These include Scream, a coaster that towers at 205ft tall, and Turbo Drop, which holds riders in the air for 10 agonising seconds before they plunge downwards.
