However, a hotel shaped like a bum hole is high on the list of destinations we never thought would exist.

No, visitors aren't the butt of some weird joke; this is very much a real hotel room where people have spent the night surrounded by the walls of the human colon.

Hilariously named CasAnus , the building is shaped like the human digestive system with the colon portion of the structure made into a bedroom.

There's a double bed, a table, a shower, toilet, along more factors such as lighting, running water and electric heating.

You may be wondering why anyone would create a bum hole hotel, but it turns out the creation doubles as an art piece.

Located in the Verbeke Foundation Art Park near Antwerp, Belgium, in a secluded field, the polyester structure is artwork by Dutch designer Joep van Lieshout.

The detailed replica of the digestive system is sure to be a unique stay for anyone interested to enquire about a stay.

Within the walls of the artistic space the resemblance to the colon fades a little as the interior is clean and white.

Large windows offering up views of the surrounding field and countryside – so it's a bit like an unusual glamping experience.

Prices start from €120 (approximately £106 per night) based on two people sharing the bedroom – you can enquire about open slots at unusualhotelsoftheworld.com.

The rate also includes a tasty breakfast and access to the Verbeke Foundation museum where you can check out more unusual art pieces and sculptures.

Adult entrance to the park is usually €13 (£11.54).

You can also request additional information by emailing [email protected] or visit the website verbekefoundation.com.

CasAnus isn't the only piece of art in the museum where tourists have been able to spend the night.

Blob VB3 – a glamorous camping pod – and CampingFlat – where tents sit on top of a tall scaffolding structure –were both installed at the sculpture park in recent years too.
