Booking makes CEO change

Gillian Tans is no longer CEO but is staying with the OTA
as chairwoman, a newly created role.  Meanwhile, Booking Holdings CEO Glenn Fogel’s role will
expand to the role of CEO.

CEO in 2016. Before that, she had been its president and chief operating

Fogel was the head of
worldwide strategy and planning before he was named president and CEO of
Booking Holdings in 2016. Before that, he was executive vice president of
corporate development. He has been with the company since 2000.

“I am excited by the
opportunity to guide our largest business and drive even more alignment across
the Booking Holdings brands as we continue on our mission to help people
experience the world,” Fogel said. “We are executing against a large market
opportunity with a clear strategic roadmap. Working with the full
global team, I believe we can identify ways to drive more collaboration and
integration to strengthen the company’s positioning for long-term success.” 

In a statement, Fogel said
he looks forward to working with Tans in her new role. He praised her
contributions for the past 17 years she’s been with the company. is Booking
Holdings’ flagship brand. The company was renamed Booking Holdings last year to reflect the growth of the brand; it was
previously the Priceline Group. Its other primary brands are Kayak,,, and OpenTable.
