CitizenM hotel opens in Miami's Worldcenter development

CitizenM has expanded its Miami footprint, opening a hotel in the city’s Miami Worldcenter megadevelopment.

Located in downtown Miami, the $4 billion Miami Worldcenter complex spans 27 acres and comprises a mix of hospitality, residential, retail, restaurant and entertainment components.

The 351-room CitizenM Miami Worldcenter is part of Worldcenter’s phased opening. The hotel has an indoor/outdoor gym, a rooftop swimming pool and bar, a 24/7 CanteenM eatery, and four SocietyM meeting rooms, which can be rented for a full or half day by guests and nonguests.

The hotel’s accommodations feature signature CitizenM brand elements such as a futuristic room design, wall-to-wall XL king-sized beds and in-room iPads that can control each room’s blinds, climate, TV and lights.

Public areas and guestrooms showcase a variety of pieces from up-and-coming artists. Most notably, the property’s facade is adorned with a series of sculptures by Los Angeles-based duo Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III, who are collectively known as FriendsWithYou.

The CitizenM Miami Worldcenter is CitizenM’s second Miami hotel, joining the CitizenM Miami Brickell, which opened last year. The brand, which is known for its “affordable luxury” positioning, now has a total of 30 locations globally.

In addition to the CitizenM Miami Worldcenter, the Miami Worldcenter will be home to the luxury Legacy Hotel & Residences, which will be part of the Accor network.
