Disneyland unveils Halloween plans: Travel Weekly
It may be summer, but the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., is already gearing up for a spooky fall season.
The entire resort will be decked out in its Halloween finery from Sept. 2 through Oct. 31. Characters throughout the resort will get special Halloween looks.
At Disneyland Park, the Haunted Mansion will get its annual seasonal update, turning it into the Haunted Mansion Holiday based on “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
A showing of the projection and light show “Halloween Screams” will be held every night at Disneyland. The show will include fireworks on weekends. Viewing locations include Sleeping Beauty Castle, in front of the “It’s a Small World” attraction and Main Street, U.S.A.
Across the way at Disney California Adventure Park, Oogie Boogie from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” will loom over the entrance to the park.
Several attractions will receive seasonal updates. Radiator Springs will become Radiator Screams; Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree will become Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree; Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters will become Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, and Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout! Will become Guardians of the Galaxy — Monsters After Dark.
At night, the façade of Carthay Circle Restaurant will light up with special Halloween projections.
At Paradise Gardens in California Adventure, the Plaza de la Familia — a celebration inspired by Dia de los Muertos — will return from Sept. 2 to Nov. 2. It includes live entertainment, crafts and food.
The Oogie Boogie Bash
On select nights from Sept. 6 through Oct. 31, the Oogie Boogie Bash — A Disney Halloween Party will return to California Adventure.
The separately ticketed, limited-capacity event kicks off at 6 p.m. It includes trick-or-treating, a special show and parade and character sightings.
Tickets for the Oogie Boogie Bash go on sale to the general public on June 30. Magic Key holders will have a chance at a select number of pre-sale tickets on June 28. Tickets start at $129 per guest ages 3 and up.
