EF Go Ahead Tours expands solo options

To meet growing demand, EF Go Ahead Tours is expanding its portfolio of solo-only tours with the addition of four new trips this year.

The educational tour operator is launching new tours in Kenya, Spain and Japan as well as a tour that will combine visits to London, Paris and Rome.

The company said it has seen a 200% year-over-year increase in solo traveler bookings since the start of 2023.

“Solo travel within a group is one of the fastest growing travel styles right now,” said Heidi Durflinger, president of EF Go Ahead Tours. “We curated new itineraries exclusively for solo travelers who crave exploration and meaningful connections. From the timeless city tours in Europe to African safari adventures or the breathtaking sights of Japan, these deeply immersive tours foster curiosity and shared experiences that allow travelers to wander solo, but not alone.”

The new tours are:

• Kenya Wildlife Safari for Solo Travelers: This tour includes visits to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi as well as game drives in Amboseli National Park and on the Maasai Mara.

• Spain for Solo Travelers: Barcelona, Madrid & Seville: This tour visits three of Spain’s most beloved cities, covering topics such as Gaudi to the Moors to the Bourbon Dynasty and will include cooking lessons.

• Japan for Solo Travelers: Tokyo, Mt. Fuji & Kyoto: From modern cosmopolitan and ancient cities to Mt. Fuji and the Narusawa Ice Cave, solo travelers will traverse the many facets of Japan on this tour.
