Hotel Ziggy opens on the Sunset Strip: Travel Weekly
The Hotel Ziggy, a new rock’n’roll-inspired property, has made its debut on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.
The 108-room boutique hotel, located at 8462 West Sunset Blvd., occupies space previously home to the Grafton on Sunset.
Upon arrival, guests encounter a lobby bar lined with vinyl albums, while a record player behind the front desk plays music in the communal space. Other music-inspired design touches can be found throughout the hotel, including decoupaged walls and ceilings that feature images of musicians and framed legal memorabilia, featuring documents pulled from various music industry lawsuits.
A retractable glass garage door sections off one part of the lobby, with that area functioning as a music venue. The venue, called Backbeat, hosts local musicians.
The property also offers a pool area that doubles as a performance space for up-and-coming DJs, and a casual dining concept called B-side Pizza.
In line with the Hotel Ziggy’s musical focus, guests are provided access to a “Shred Shed,” which is stocked with electric and acoustic guitars, amps, records, record players, Walkmans and backpacks that can be borrowed for free.
Rates at the Hotel Ziggy start at $299 per night.
