IHG inks tourism-marketing pact with Saudi Arabia
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Tourism Authority to collaborate on promotions, joint marketing campaigns and loyalty program initiatives.
The goal is to “showcase Saudi Arabia as one of the world’s most exciting destinations to an international audience.”
IHG has also declared Saudi Arabia “a priority market” for Middle Eastern expansion. The hospitality group detailed plans to add 10,000 additional rooms to its Saudi Arabia portfolio over the next two to three years, focusing on Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah, Makkah, Dammam and Al Khobar.
IHG currently operates 37 hotels across five brands in Saudi Arabia — InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites and Voco.
The memorandum of understanding comes as Saudi Arabia makes aggressive investments in tourism and hospitality, recently setting a target of 100 million visitors by 2030.
