Just in time for the Winter Olympics, New York hotel opens curling rink

Guests of the M Social Times Square New York can get a little closer to the Olympic experience with the hotel’s new outdoor curling rink.

The rink is located by the Beast & Butterflies rooftop bar and lounge, a 7,500-square-foot wraparound terrace that opened in summer 2021.

Reservations for the curling rink are available in 45-minute increments for $30 per person. Registered guests who book time on the rink receive a complimentary apple cider cocktail.

At the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea, the U.S. men’s curling team won gold, the first time a U.S. team had topped the podium in curling. In the last decade, the number of active curlers in the country has grown from 16,000 to approximately 25,000, according to USA Curling.

The curling rink is inside a weatherized tent and is open from noon to 10 p.m. daily.

The 480-room M Social Times Square at 226 West 52nd Street in Times Square is the first U.S. property from M Social, a brand from London-based Millennium & Copthorne Hotels.
