NSW Dine and Discover vouchers can now be used for takeaway
NSW residents will have an extra month to use their Dine and Discover vouchers, the state government has announced.
Speaking to media on Tuesday, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and state Treasurer Dominic Perrottet said that residents will have until the end of August to use the vouchers – and will also have the ability to use the vouchers on takeaway food purchases.
Prior to the announcement, the $25 Dine vouchers can be used only to dine-in at restaurants, which is not possible for millions of residents across Greater Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Central Coast who are in lockdown until July 9.

Mr Perrottet said that while the initiative now included payments for takeaway dining – rather than strictly in-venue dining – residents must check in with a QR code upon collection.
“These vouchers are available for takeaway and delivery as well, that we make the point, when you are doing takeaway, obviously use the QR codes as have been set out by the New South Wales government in relation to that,” he said.
“You can pick up takeaway yourself, but as we say, what we are asking for is when you are picking up takeaway, you check in on the QR codes.”
The Dine and Discover vouchers, which are available to all NSW residents on the Service NSW app, gives $100 to each resident, split across two $25 vouchers to spend on dining and two $25 vouchers to spend on arts, entertainment and tourism experiences.

Currently, restaurants and food outlets in Greater Sydney can open for only takeaway services during the lockdown period.
In addition to the change of the voucher expire, Mr Perrottet announced a new financial support package for NSW businesses impacted by the lockdown.
The Treasurer said the package won’t just be limited to hotsptot areas and will cover all of NSW.
“The New South Wales Government will be providing individual payments to small businesses with full-time employees up to 20, full time employees or having payrolls up to $1.2 million with turn over of $75,000 a year and that includes soul traders,” Mr Perrottet said.

“A payment of $10,000 if there is a turnover reduction of 75%. A turnover reduction of 50%, a $7,000 payment and a turnover reduction of 30% is a $5,000 payment.
“This payment will be available to tourism, hospitality and the accommodation sector with payrolls of up to $10 million who we know have been significantly disrupted during this period of time.”
The funding will be available from July 19.
