Ride & Seek buys Cycle Japan, plans expansion
Bicycle adventure tour operator Ride & Seek has acquired Cycle Japan, a Japanese bike tour operator, and will launch a new extension of a popular itinerary in the fall.
The newly expanded version of the Samurai Tour will now cover Shikoku Island, Noto and Mt. Fuji and has departures in September and October.
There are four versions of the Samurai Tour, including two 10-night itineraries, a 14-night itinerary and a 21-night itinerary.
Space is still available for the Sept. 8 departure of the 14-night Samurai Bonus Stage – Mount Fuji Across Japan itinerary, which will have active travelers ride across Japan from north to south, exploring landmarks, cycling around Mount Fuji’s five lakes and exploring the Izu Peninsula and the communities in the Japanese Alps.
Guests can expect to stay in a mix of Western-style hotels and traditional Japanese inns, known as ryokans, and most accommodations have hot spring baths.
Rates for the 14-night Samurai Bonus Stage — Mount Fuji Across Japan itinerary begin at $9,700 per person.
Ride & Seek said the company plans to work closely with Cycle Japan and its founder, John Morrell, to expand next year with self-guided tours that focus on Hokkaido.
Cycle Japan launched in 2018, with its first tours operating on Shikoku Island.
