Rosewood Hotel is coming to San Francisco

A new skyscraper currently rising in San Francisco’s Transbay District will house a Rosewood Hotel, the brand’s first in the city.

The Rosewood San Francisco will occupy 15 floors of the 61-story, 1.1 million-square-foot, mixed use tower. The hotel is expected to open in 2026. The Transbay District is located just below Market Street on the east side of the city.

The 800-foot-tall tower, designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, will connect via pedestrian skybridge to Salesforce Park, a 5.4-acre, elevated outdoor space featuring a 1,000-person amphitheater, children’s play area, walking trails and interactive art installations, via a pedestrian skybridge.

Rosewood San Francisco will offer approximately 180 guestrooms and suites; an indoor-outdoor restaurant; a patisserie; an Asava spa; a fitness studio with an indoor lap pool; and a variety of event spaces.

“Rosewood is an ideal partner for this project and will create a one-of-a-kind destination for those who call the Bay Area home, as well as those who travel there for business and pleasure,” Douglas Metzler, CEO for the West Region for Hines, a partner in the project, said in a statement. “The Rosewood collection represents the pinnacle of luxury hotels, inspired by the culture, history and geography of each locale, and we are thrilled to bring their unique vision to this iconic development in the Transbay District.”

The Rosewood San Francisco will be the third California property from the hotel brand, joining including the Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park and the Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito.
