TourRadar and Flight Centre form partnership

TourRadar, a business-to-consumer aggregator of multiday tours, has formed a global partnership with Flight Centre Travel Group.

The partnership will integrate TourRadar’s inventory and bookable online content into Flight Centre’s Helio agent platform via API, using Flight Centre’s commercial agreements with tour operators. Full integration is expected by June.

TourRadar was founded in 2010 as a multiday tour OTA for consumers. During the pandemic, the company worked to develop a B2B solution, said TourRadar co-founder Travis Pittman.

TourRadar aggregates content from some 2,500 suppliers, ranging from small destination management companies to large tour operators like G Adventures, Trafalgar and Globus. Its inventory is bookable in one place, which Pittman believes will be a benefit to travel advisors, who often have to visit a supplier’s website or make a phone call to book a multiday tour.

“Our integration with TourRadar is part of our larger tech-forward initiative to bring more efficiencies to our sales process and create a better experience for our agents and their customers,” said Nick Lucock, Flight Centre’s executive general manager of global land supply.

Pittman said TourRadar is in talks with a number of industry players — ranging from OTAs to travel agencies to wholesalers — about possible partnerships.

“We want this to be part of the bigger ecosystem where we can feed this great content that the operators have to make it possible in all these other places, so they can get more distribution, [agents] can get more commission when they sell it, and everyone wins,” he said.

TourRadar entered into the B2B space last month when it announced the launch of its Adventure Booking Platform. It features the company’s traditional B2C marketplace and adds a B2B distribution arm.

Any travel agent can sign up for free to access TourRadar’s inventory and earn up to 8% commission.
