Move over, Epcot — Adventures by Disney is planning a luxury expedition cruise to Antarctica.

The 12-day, 11-night journey starts with a night at the Sofitel Buenos Aires and a flight to Ushuaia, the world's southernmost city and gateway to Patagonia.

The itinerary includes time to explore Tierra del Fuego National Park, a stop at the End of the World Post Office, and a catamaran ride through the Beagle Channel — named after the boat Charles Darwin used to explore the area in 1833.

Disney is partnering with Ponant — a French cruise line known for its luxury vessels and adventurous itineraries — on the journey. Passengers will have the chance to cross the Drake Passage (one of the most challenging crossings a ship can make), kayak at the edge of the earth, and frolic with penguins and whales in a place few get to experience.

Prices start at around $11,200 for kids and $12,500 for adults, including meals at the ship's two onboard restaurants. Children under 10 are not allowed.

Disney is currently planning for two departures — one on Dec. 20, 2021, and another on Jan 30, 2022. It plans to open up bookings to the general public later this month.

For travelers seeking a warmer escape, Disney is also planning expedition cruises to the Galapagos Islands. Prices for those nine-day cruises start at $6,200. Departures to the Galapagos are planned in February, March, July, August, and December 2022.
