A new scheme will offer savings on certain routes for part-timers and those whose working hours are divided due to coronavirus.<\/p>\n
Commuters will be able to buy flexible season tickets from today as a new system comes into action in England. <\/p>\n
Paperless flexible tickets can be used from June 28 and they will allow travel on any eight days in a 28-day period. <\/p>\n
The Department for Transport (DfT) estimates two-days-a-week commuters using the tickets could save hundreds of pounds.<\/p>\n
A passenger travelling to Woking to London can save \u00a3260, while it's \u00a3230 from Liverpool to Manchester. <\/p>\n
If commuters are travelling from Stafford to Birmingham they'll save \u00a3170.<\/p>\n
The savings are compared with the cost of daily tickets. <\/p>\n
Passengers can use an updated season ticket calculator at National Rail to find out which ticket they should purchase. <\/p>\n

Train companies will allow passengers who buy an Advance ticket to rebook or receive rail vouchers without an admin fee.<\/p>\n
The DfT is promoting flexi seasons as the first significant benefit for passengers of the Williams-Shapps Plan for Rail.<\/p>\n
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said: "As we kickstart, flexible season tickets are the first step.<\/p>\n
"They give us greater freedom and choice about how we travel, simpler ticketing and a fairer fare."<\/p>\n
People who travel two or three days a week at peak times will save money using the tickets on certain routes.<\/p>\n
