German authorities have closed their investigation into several individuals connected to luxury hospitality group Kempinski, citing no evidence of any wrongdoing.

Initiated by the Munich State Prosecutor’s Office earlier this year, the criminal examination was centered on breach-of-trust charges, though the agency declined to provide further details or specify who at Kempinski was under scrutiny.

A Munich State Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman confirmed in an email that the investigation was discontinued in May.

In a press statement, Kempinski called the allegations brought against senior Kempinski representatives “baseless.” The company said that two complaints were immediately dismissed by German authorities, with a third and final complaint dismissed after further examination.

“At Kempinski, we act with a great sense of integrity and business ethics,” the company said in its statement. “This is at the core of our brand DNA and a key pillar of our fundamental strength as a company. The fact that all complaints were found to be entirely baseless demonstrates that they had been filed with the sole intention of defaming our company and its senior representatives.”
