{"id":79930,"date":"2021-06-30T19:23:47","date_gmt":"2021-06-30T19:23:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mytravelleader.com\/?p=79930"},"modified":"2021-06-30T19:23:47","modified_gmt":"2021-06-30T19:23:47","slug":"uniworlds-sao-gabriel-makes-debut-in-portugal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mytravelleader.com\/cruises\/uniworlds-sao-gabriel-makes-debut-in-portugal\/","title":{"rendered":"Uniworld&#39;s Sao Gabriel makes debut in Portugal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Uniworld Boutique River Cruises on June 28 christened its newest Super Ship, the Sao Gabriel, officially launching the first post-pandemic sailings for Americans on Portugal&#8217;s Douro River.<\/p>\n<p>The christening by godmother Joke De Bruyn, Uniworld&#8217;s director of operations, came just a week after Uniworld led the restart of European river cruising for Americans with the sailing in Italy of La Venezia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a delight to toast with our beloved loyal guests and crew, and celebrate being back on the rivers aboard our beautiful brand-new Super Ship,&#8221; said Uniworld CEO Ellen Bettridge. &#8220;This is only the beginning for us. It&#8217;s been a journey, but after recently setting sail in Italy and now Portugal, we&#8217;re looking forward to continuing this momentum with the restart of our itineraries in France and Central Europe next month.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Related<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>The Folo podcast: A return to Europe, Venice and river cruising<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Dispatch, Venice: Rare chance to chill in a tourism hot spot<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Uniworld welcomes back Americans to European river cruising\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other lines will be close behind, with limited sailings for Americans beginning July 1 in Portugal and France.
