Celestyal Cruises has sold the Costa ship it purchased one year ago, citing market conditions from the ongoing pandemic.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Greek line said that after reviewing its forward-looking capacity requirements, it decided to sell the ship. The line had named the ship the Celestyal Experience.<\/p>\n
Celestyal will continue operating the Celestyal Crystal and the Celestyal Olympia. The line said it would “explore opportunities for fleet rejuvenation when the time is right.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
The cruise line acquired the 1,800-passenger Costa NeoRomantica (built in 1993) in July 2020 as part of Carnival Corp.’s sell-off of 19 older vessels.<\/p>\n
