This week tennis player Jamie Murray checks in to our travel Q&A.<\/p>\n
He talks about his earliest holiday memory, his favourite Scottish trips and why New York is the best place to play tennis.<\/p>\n
First holiday memory?<\/span><\/p>\n Camping in La Rochelle in France, when I was about six or seven. We drove there from Scotland. It was super-hot. We didn\u2019t go on many holidays because we would always be playing in tennis tournaments.<\/p>\n Are you a good flier?<\/span><\/p>\n Yes. It doesn\u2019t stress me at all. I take 50 to 80 flights a year, maybe more.<\/p>\n Best places to play tennis?<\/span><\/p>\n I love being in New York for the U.S. Open [Jamie reached the doubles final this year]. The city has such energy.<\/p>\n Top weekend trip?<\/span><\/p>\n I adore going to Scotland to see my family. My grandparents are getting older so I want to visit them often.<\/p>\n Favourite Scottish trips?<\/span><\/p>\n A few years ago, after Wimbledon, we went to Oban, then up to Skye and the Hebrides, which was amazing.<\/p>\n Jamie recalls a wonderful trip to the Isle of Skye. Pictured is Neist Point, the island’s most westerly tip<\/p>\n Dream holiday?<\/span><\/p>\n Kenya for our honeymoon. We stayed in a conservation area in luxury tents. Then we went on to Zanzibar.<\/p>\n Where to next?<\/span><\/p>\n Bora Bora in the South Pacific.
