DOHA, Qatar — Oman Air will be the next member of the Oneworld alliance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The carrier will also be the third Oneworld member in the Middle East, joining Qatar Airways and Royal Jordanian.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Oman Air is expected to formally join the alliance in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It is through these partnerships that we will continue to grow and benefit our members,” Oneworld CEO Rob Gurney said during a Monday signing ceremony during the IATA Annual General Meeting.<\/p>\n
Oman Air CEO Eng Abdulaziz Al Raisi joined Gurney at the ceremony. He said that Oman has set a goal of drawing 11 million annual tourists by 2030.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I think joining the Oneworld alliance will help us bring more people to Oman,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Oman Air serves 41 destinations with a fleet containing Boeing 737s, Boeing 787s and Airbus A330s.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Oneworld currently has 13 members. U.S members are American Airlines and the most recent entrant, Alaska Airlines.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Russian carrier S7 was suspended from the alliance in April.\u00a0<\/p>\n
