While in New York on Thursday, Japan prime minister Fumio Kishida said that Japan would resume visa-free entry for individual travelers on Oct. 11.<\/p>\n
In addition, a daily cap on the number of visitors will be eliminated. With the two moves, Japan will approach pre-pandemic tourism norms for the first time in two-and-a-half years. However, visitors still must be vaccinated to enter the country.<\/p>\n
Japan has been gradually easing Covid-19 restrictions on travelers since June. The country currently allows tourism, but visitors must be part of a tour group and secure a visa before they travel. Daily arrivals are capped at 50,000.<\/p>\n
